“Greatness, it’s just something we made up. Somehow we’ve come to believe that greatness is a gift, reserved for a chosen few, for prodigies, for superstars. And the rest of us can only stand by watching. You can forget that. Greatness is not some rare DNA strand. It’s not some precious thing. Greatness is no more unique to us than breathing. We’re all capable of it. All of us. Find your greatness.”- Nike

Love this ad. This was one of the parts I loved most about doing track and field for four years in high school. It was about pushing yourself to reach your personal bests. Not in a selfish way. It’s about achieving self-confidence while being part of something bigger than yourself. It’s about pushing yourself to your limits and being proud of whatever your score/time/distance/height was. Team sports sometimes forget about the individual and only care about the end result of winning. Being a bench warmer on a losing team is no fun. Being proud of yourself and feeling good about yourself is paramount. I hope kids are inspired by these kinds of ads and go out for track and field.

Flea at the LA Marathon on March 20th 2011.
He stopped outside his music school, “The Silverlake Conservatory of Music” to have a drink, greet his supporters, wife and daughter and Chad.

Favorite band.
